“SORT and WORK WITH THE WORKERS” 
If there is one particular mindset or outlook that serves to truly transform how we perceive our business- building efforts, it would have to be the realization that not everyone is cut out for this business. Once we fully embrace the fact that we are sorting/sifting -vs- convincing/hard selling, the building process becomes so much easier.
A couple of my favorite sayings are, “We don’t motivate people, we find motivated people” < and > “Remember, professionals sort and amateurs convince”.
A common response that top income earners in Network Marketing give when asked what one thing do they wish they would have done differently is: To have worked less with the people that were not pro- active and more with the individuals who got into action immediately. Moral to the story is, if we want to have success in this lifetime…work with those that work.

“THE 4 MISSILES”
Following are a few of the realities of this amazing business we call Network Marketing. The intention here is to “armor” you in awareness and knowledge, so that you will find the success that you are looking for!
#1. Apathy ~ Beware those that roar in like a lion, for often they creep away like a lamb.
One key ingredient here is the human factor. Meaning, that we can’t control whether someone succeeds or not. Our job is to offer professional support and guidance, to be available for our new Associate. Whether they take action or not, is beyond our ability. Knowing the 80/20 rule may help as well, which states that 20% of the people will do 80% of the work.
#2. Attrition ~ A wonderful aspect of our business, is that, we can fail 90% of the time and become financially free!
We’re dealing with human nature and lack of the ability to dream or stick to building and creating something of value. People will come into our teams as customers and business partners, even get amazing results and “wallah” they’re gone. The magical part of our business plan is that it just takes a couple of passionate leaders to create momentum in our organization!
#3. Deception ~ Like it or not, people will deceive themselves and us in the process.
Often, people around us will come up with many reasons, besides the real one, why they don’t follow through on a commitment. Or, in many cases, their habits of not being accountable are so ingrained, it’s quite challenging to break through. One key way to deal with this is, talk to enough people to sort and find the ones that have the core values and professionalism that we are looking for.
#4. Rejection ~ Remember, “We’re looking for those who are looking for us”.
One of the opportunities for growth that we all have is learning that we are all talent scouts and only looking for positive, pro-active people. And that when people say no they are just saying, “at this moment in time, I don’t see the value in acting on our products and services”. It’s not about us at all, it’s just the individual and where they currently are mentally. One fun way of looking at it, is that we are paid for every no, we get. It simply means that we are one step closer to the person who is looking and possibly praying for the Gift that we are sharing!

“THE PATHWAY TO UNSHAKABLE BELIEF”
Maybe the real way to building our belief in all four cornerstones, (Company, Products, Industry & Ourselves), is in the pursuit of it? So, here’s to the pursuit of unshakable belief!
Quote from Christ to his Apostle: “Thomas, you BELIEVE, because you have seen Me.” — From the apostle Paul, “Faith, is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”.
WOW….I don’t know about you, but these words of wisdom from the good book re-affirm the undeniable necessity of “Getting into the circle of Successful Leaders”, “Creating a Vision vivid enough that it becomes undeniable”…which ultimately leads to the “Creation/Manifestation of our Dreams that we SAW, BELIEVED IN and ACTED ON”!!
I’ve listed a number of key actions steps that continually feed and strengthen OUR VISION & BELIEF!
#1. IMMERSION IN THE FLOW~ I remember, the beginning of my Network Marketing career back in 1992. My car became my Classroom and I was ravenously hungry for knowledge, tips and how to talk this new talk of my profession! That “hunger” to better my skills and continuously GROW hasn’t lessened. If anything, it has strengthened.
#2. PLUGGING INTO MENTORS~ Our Mentors have come in many shapes, sizes and forms. From Network Marketing “Gurus”, to heart-centered Upline/Crossline/Downline Leader – to the beautiful, never ending curiosity and zeal of our grandchildren!! Leaders are Readers, my friends. The Leader that we are today, is a child compared to the Leader that can and will Lead our Dream business of tomorrow! Reach Out, Learn From & Duplicate SUCCESS, my Friends!
#3. ATTENDING EVERY POSSIBLE EVENT~ This goes back to the Scripture above and the very obvious “Showing Up” of any highly Successful Leader. I’ve found that even ONE KEY NUGGET I take-away from an Event can lead to a major breakthrough in my business! And, of course “Law of Reciprocity” applies here, in all it’s glory. Either the Meeting needs you…or You Need the Meeting. Again, I remind myself – LEADERS LEAD, THEY STEP UP & SHOW UP!
#4. AFFIRMING OURSELVES CONSTANTLY ~ Our mind cannot tell the difference between a passionate declaration and reality. So, when I whole-heartedly BELIEVE & HAVE FAITH in the “Affirmations that I verbally declare – I put on the qualities that I aim for! We diligently surround ourselves with WRITTEN Declarations and Affirmations. And passionately verbalize the qualities that I’m growing into as well. Then the “Magic” happens, we assume those qualities!!
In Summary, I firmly “Believe” that BELIEF IN ALL 4 CORNERSTONES, IS AT THE HEART OF EVERY WORTHWHILE ACCOMPLISHMENT and clearly the HEART OF AN ACCOMPLISHED LEADER!! And let’s remember, that a beautiful part of any loved and respected Leader is the BELIEF IN THE PEOPLE THAT MAKE THEIR DREAMS POSSIBLE – that, my friend, WOULD BE “YOU”! With Belief, Passion and Determined Action, anything is Possible!!
FUNDAMENTALS = PATHWAY TO SUCCESS!
Even the Millionaires practice the Fundamentals on a Consistent Basis!
Baseball Superstars are paid Millions for doing 3 fundamentals; Throwing, Catching and Hitting the Ball! Our Football heroes; Blocking, Tackling, Throwing & Catching the Ball! Soccer, Basketball = similar fundamentals. Do them at an average level, and you’re an amateur. Do them at a level of excellence, and you’re a very well paid Professional! Attend Pre-season Training Camp of any of these and what are these Millionaire’s doing = the Fundamentals!
Network Marketing is no different. To play the Game well and get Paid, we Prospect, Present & Duplicate on a Daily basis. Do these activities okay, we bring in a Part Time income. Do these activities often enough, learn from well paid professionals and get into massive action, then watch your income grow exponentially. And yes, you can even equal or exceed those sporting heroes in income, if you stay in the game long enough and continue to grow!
Hint, pick one of these Fundamentals per week and work on them. Learn from those who are masterful at them. Be hungry for knowledge! Immerse yourself in an environment of support. Create a Classroom setting wherever and whenever you can! Leaders are Readers, Listeners and Life-long Students!

REJECTION FREE MARKETING THAT’S FUN!

If you really want some fun ways to build your business, try this! It’s rejection free. I’ve put together some scripts just to give you an idea. Try it on and see how it feels.
1. 3:00 AM CALL LIST Take out your cell phone. Who would you call at 3:00 AM this morning if you had a Flat Tire? Or If you went to Jail tonight, who would you call to Bail you out? First 3 People you would call are the first three we’re going to called ABC Company . Script: “Hey look _______, my sponsor ______ and I just got involved with this crazy product & home business called ABC Company! And he/she asked me to pick my 3:00 AM Flat Tire Friends. And guess what, you’re one of them! I need to get with you so I can just practice my presentation. I know it’s probably not going to be for you. Also you will help me get some points in a contest that we’re going to have! So, when can we get together for 45 minutes”? (local/face to face) -or- 30 minutes? (long distance/video) 2. “LET ME SHOW THIS TO YOU FIRST” Approach: (Rejection FREE) Script: “Hey ______, ______ here, I just got involved with this crazy thing called ABC Company. Where I help people drop body fat and gain lean muscle. I’m also pursuing it as a home-based business where I get to travel the world and meet lots of great people. Here’s my question for you, if somebody else tries to tell you about this, can I just ask that you let me show it to you first?” Take out your Checkbook and/or Bills and write down who you pay money to every month or through the year? These are people that make money from us through the year. They at least owe it to you to at the very least take 30 minutes to have a look at what you do! (ie: Realtor, Hair Dresser, Insurance Agent, Banker, Vet, Cleaners, etc). Script: “Hello ________, Robert here. Hey, I sure do appreciate how you’ve helped me over the past few (years or months), with ________, and I sincerely value your opinion. I’ve just started with a company called ABC Company. We market a fun product that ______. And I’m pursuing it as a business. You know, this probably isn’t for you, but I would really value your feedback & thoughts. When can we set up, say a 30 minute window of time where we could meet and I could show it to you?” Note: Special thanks to a wonderful friend and fellow Networker, Casey Eberhart, for some of the ideas expressed here. |

The 80/20 Rule
If there is one principle that will carry you into the New Year strongly, it is the reality that 20% of our Business Partners produce 80% of our Total Results. A whole lot of people have lofty dreams, with a basement level work ethic. The sooner we embrace the philosophy of “Working with those that Work”, wah lah, magically we have a lot more time to do what truly matters!
Following are a few traits of the 80%’ers. My goal in sharing this with you is to help you become more aware of the qualities to look for in our Business Partners. Then we can make a conscious decision to work with those that share our core values and have the capacity to Achieve our Dreams together!
* The Talkers ~ These people don’t seem to have the ability to stop long enough to ask for help, or in a lot of cases don’t even see the need for reaching out. They tend to have some major self esteem issues to boot –or- the Cup is just overflowing all the time, with no room for a refill!
* The Whiners ~ Right, the glass is always half “empty”, never half full. They can have a sack of proverbial diamonds fall into their lap – and complain about the fabric of the sack! Ugh! Here’s a saying that helps remind me of this group, “We don’t motivate people, we find motivated people.”
* The Solopreneurs ~ Don’t mess with me or my peeps, eh! Never mind the entire essence of success in Network Marketing, which is creating a Community in which everybody works together, supports each other and celebrates success. The big killers we call Pride, Greed and/or Jealousy tend to flourish here and in turn perpetuate.
* The Takers ~ Individuals in this group can appear as sheep, until we expose them as the wolves they truly are! The telltale signs to look for are Guilt Trips, Blaming Anyone & Everything ELSE for their woes – and – a failure to Express or live in Gratitude. Protect yourself!
* Finally…The LEADERS Who Produce 80% of our Results, yet are just 20% of our quote, Business Partners! ~ Aaah YES, now we’re talking! They are our True Friends who show up when they say they will. They Motivate us with their Passion and Excitement! They are naturally Purposeful, Passionate & Persistent! They help us hold ourselves accountable, because they are accountable. They find ways to serve, alongside us. The beauty is, it just takes a handful of “Leaders” in our organization to produce massive results!!
Here’s a little saying that I do take to heart, “Some people watch things happen, some wonder what happened, some don’t realize that anything happened….finally, we have the “Leader” that makes things happen!” I suggest we all consciously choose to invest our time & effort with the latter, my friends!
